Expert Immigration (ABN 65 676 034 110) operates immigrationexpert.com.au ("Immigration Expert", "we", "us", "our"). Effective date: 27 June 2026.

This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Immigration Expert (immigrationexpert.com.au) is a matching service that connects people seeking visa help with registered migration agents and Australian legal practitioners. We are not a migration agent or law firm and do not provide immigration advice.

1. The personal information we collect

If you submit a visa enquiry:

• Your name, email address and phone number;
• Your state/territory and (optionally) suburb;
• The visa category you select and the related details you choose to provide (for example occupation, sponsor, relationship or appeal details), and any message you write;
• A one-way hashed (irreversible) version of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse. We do not retain your raw IP address for marketing.

If you register as an agent:

• Your name, business name, email address and phone number;
• Your OMARA/MARA registration number or Australian legal practising certificate number, which we verify;
• The visa categories and states you service;
• Payment information for credit purchases, which is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not see or store your full card details.

We also use essential cookies for website functionality and, for agents, secure login sessions.

2. How we use your information

• Enquirers: to match your enquiry with registered migration agents or legal practitioners who handle your visa category and service your state, and to operate, secure and improve the service.
• Agents: to operate your account, deliver matching leads, process credit purchases, manage disputes, and verify your registration.

4. Who else we share information with

We disclose personal information to service providers who help us run the platform — our web hosting provider, our payment provider (Stripe) for agent credit purchases, and our email delivery service. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example payment and email infrastructure) may store or process data outside Australia. Where this occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

6. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Enquiry contact details are only disclosed to agents who unlock the enquiry; payment card data is never stored on our systems. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or de-identified.

7. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at info@immigrationexpert.com.au. You can also ask us to stop contacting you or to remove your enquiry from the platform.

8. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern, contact us at info@immigrationexpert.com.au and we will respond. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with its effective date.
